What are the big differences between large and small tank parts?
What are the big differences between buying parts(filters/heaters) for small(20-30 gallons) and large(100-150) aquariums?
Are there filters out there for 100 gallon tanks?
What is the best way to filter that big of a tank?
What is the cheapest way to filter that big of a tank(DIY style)?
Are there heaters for that big of tanks?
What is a SUMP's main purpose and how necessary/ beneficial are they?
What type of a hood would I get or how many?
Let's make all these answers apply to a 100 gallon aquarium?
No real difference, just things are bigger.
You can buy external cannister filters for 100gal+ tanks, heaters come in up to 300w and you can use a couple if thats not enough.
If you want cheap (but good) DIY filtering then a sump filter is a good option. It's basically just a large tank that sits under your main tank and contains filter media and a pump to circulate the water. So it's something you can build yourself. You do generally have to get your tank drilled so you can fit an overflow (or build a syphon overflow) Advantage - it cheap to build and can contain heaps of filter media.
The hood is also something you can DIY and fit with whatever lights you need, depending on what plants you want to grow really.

what guitar is the best??
i want a honest opinion on what guitar is the best i have always been in favor of gibson lespauls with paf humbuckers but most people seem to like the strats the are more versitle meaning easy playing light not bad looking cheap and easaly modified so what do you think???
Part of the fun of playing guitar is shopping for the guitar that fits you and your style the best.
Instead of automatically choosing a guitar based on the name or brand, why not go to a few music stores and play everything you can get your hands on?

Need to move my son from YAS-23 to a pro alto sax. Which brand/horn??
He is an upcoming 8th grader--classical and jazz bands. Director said "Best horn you can afford", but gave no other guidance or brand preference. Has been using a stock mouthpiece, so need to know the best pro horn AND mouthpieces to get for him. I know going to some stores and trying several horns would be best, but nearest music stores stocking anything other than student/intermediate Yamahas or Conns are over 200 miles away, so must must buy these on-line.
Hi Sherry. Perhaps I can help direct you with this. If your son has been playing on the Yamaha 23 - and likes it - I would suggest he stay with Yamaha. The most affordable Yamaha professional alto sax is the YAS 62. Yamaha changes prices so often, I cannot tell you how much they are now.... but maybe around $2100.00. The Yamaha above that is the YAS 875 / 875EX / or 82. Either of these models will be accepted in college and will also be competitive for competitions / solo & ensemble / Jazz band / and college auditions. The mouthpieces you can get would be the Selmer C* (C-Star) or the Selmer C* Larry Teal for Jazz. The other instrument that directors find a good professional choice is the Selmer Super Action 80 - Series I or II... with the same mouth pieces. I am a music teacher that has been finding instruments for students for about 15 years now. I don't necessarily advocate buying a new instrument as finding a used one in excellent ready-to-play condition is a win-win situation. You will save anywhere from $600.00 to $1000.00 by buying used. Check with the classifieds.. perhaps Craigslist.org in your city... and I am sending you a link to eBay>musical instruments> Woodwind > Saxophones > Alto > Yamaha> .
